John Van Gelderen
John R. Van Gelderen entered full-time evangelism in 1992 and has preached throughout the United States and in 20 foreign countries. He is the president of Revival Focus Ministries, an organization for the cause of revival and evangelism; the editor of Revival, a magazine for those with a heart for revival; the conference host of Revival Focus Conferences, venues for articulating revival truth; and the author/editor of the Netcasters Evangelism Training course, which God has blessed to equip the saints with the truth of the Spirit-filled life and to bring the lost to Christ. He is also the author of many books, tracts, and songs pertaining to revival and evangelism. John holds B.A. (‘84) and M.A. (’87) degrees in Bible and a D.Pas.Th. (’08) from Bob Jones University. He travels with his wife, Mary Lynn, and their son, John, Jr., in revival ministry and is based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Evangelist Jonathan Beazley entered evangelism in 2010 and is passionate about revival in America. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Evangelism from Ambassador Baptist College. Throughout his time at college he traveled with Neighborhood Bible Time preaching in teen crusades all across the United States. He is now the assistant director and staff evangelist of Neighborhood Bible Time. He is also the staff evangelist of Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. His burden is to see revival in the church, and evangelism through the church. His ministry in revival meetings focuses on true brokenness and Spirit-filled living. Jon is not only involved in seeing revival in churches but is also aiding in the establishment of new churches. Jon and his wife Bethany have a desire to be used of God in sparking an awakening in the United States.
Matt Barfield was in law school when the Lord called him to missions during the 2002 Holiness Conference. He was trained for ministry at his local church, Victory Baptist Church of Chester Springs, PA, and sent to the Middle East through International Partnership Ministries. After learning Arabic and helping to start a church and Bible institute in Jordan, the Lord enabled Matt to endure a prolonged illness caused by parasites. In answer to the prayers of many believers, the Lord healed him and broadened his ministry with IPM. He ministered in the Amazon and Southeast Asia as a Missionary Evangelist and saw the Lord work in wonderful ways. In 2011, Matt took on the role of IPM’s Vice President of Field Ministries, a ministry that takes him to many mission fields around the world to preach, teach and advise. Matt and his wife, Chrysta, have five children, with a new addition coming soon. They all serve the Lord together and are praying for a Global Great Awakening. After seeing both blessings and hindrances in the Lord’s work all across the globe, they are convinced that the Church is “…well able to overcome…” (Numbers 13:30) and experience victory locally and globally.
Pastor Bickel is a graduate of BJU and a pioneer church planter with over 30 years of ministry experience. In 1980, under the Bob Jones University’s program, he planted a church in Connecticut where he pastored for 14½ years. Heeding the call of God to plant a new church, Pastor Bickel completed further preparation in the field of Jewish-Christian Studies (including training in Israel) and set out for Brooklyn, New York where he was used of God to plant Bethel Baptist Fellowship in 1997. Bethel is an exciting young church, which is located in a Russian-Jewish area and has started a Russian-speaking congregation in the fall of 2004. Pastor Bickel’s vision is to see churches started in each of the five boroughs of New York City. Currently, Bethel has been instrumental in establishing a couple of churches in the city. His prayer is for another Great Awakening that would quicken believers and bring in a massive harvest, resulting in many new churches planted. Jim and his wife, Nancy, have been married for 36 years. They have seven children, four of whom are married, and nine grandchildren.
Matt Davis is associate pastor of Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia. After graduating from law school in 2002 God began to challenge him to surrender to Christ in all areas of life, especially his career decisions. Subsequent to this surrender, God began leading Matt away from law toward the ministry as a pastor. After going back to school for Bible training, Matt graduated with a B.A. in Bible from Piedmont Baptist College in 2009.
In addition to his ministry responsibilities at CCBC (including preaching and leading “Patch the Pirate Club”), he leads the church’s college and career “Life Purpose Class”. God has opened a wide door for student ministry on the campus of the University of Georgia through a student group CCBC started called the “Life Purpose Bible Fellowship”. The ultimate prayer and goal of this effort is to see revival and spiritual awakening among the 35,000 students on and around the campus. Pastor Davis is married to Casey and has five children.
Thomas Overmiller was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Indiana. He received a B.A. (‘04) and M.A. (‘06) in Bible from Baptist College of Ministry and Theological Seminary and is continuing his education incrementally through Maranatha Baptist Seminary. He met his wife, Sarah, at college. They married in 2007 and have three wonderful children.
Beginning in 2005, Thomas has served in various roles at Falls Baptist Church and Baptist College of Ministry. He presently serves as the church preschool ministry director and a Bible professor for the college, teaching New Testament Survey, Bible Doctrines, Principles of Finance, Elementary Greek, and Intermediate Greek. He takes the opportunity to preach or teach whenever possible.
He and his wife have a desire to reach their community with the gospel. They endeavor to accomplish this through in-home Bible studies, cookie plates with tracts, back-yard Bible clubs, door-to-door witnessing, and building open relationships. They also have a burden to help others grow in the simple, practical reality of their personal relationship with Christ.
